Ayurveda is a medical specialty which caters Preventive and Curative aspects of Health as a whole. Ayurveda system of medicine is having an age old heritage which survived the tests of time gracefully owing to its eternal Principles and Concepts.\u00a0 The system of medicine describes the well-being of an individual at physical, mental, social and spiritual levels through its eight branches popularly known as Ashtanga Ayurveda. Ashtanga includes – Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Shalakya Tantra (ENT & Ophthalmology), Shalya Tantra (Surgery), Agada tantra evum Vidhi Vaidyak (Toxicology & Jurisprudence), Bhoota Vidya (Psychology), Kaumara Bhritya (Paediatrics), Rasayan (Science of Rejuvenation) and Vajeekaran (Science of Aphrodisiac). The 14 Departments under the Faculty of Indian Medicine are:<\/p>\n

  7. Prasuti evam Stri Roga (Obstetrics and Gynecology)<\/li>\n
  8. Kaumarabhritya \u2013 Bala Roga (Paediatrics)<\/li>\n
  9. Swasthavritta (Social and Preventive Medicine)<\/li>\n
  10. Agada Tantra (Toxicology and Forensic Medicine)<\/li>\n
  11. Kayachikitsa (Medicine)<\/li>\n
  12. Shalya Tantra (Surgery)<\/li>\n
  13. Shalakya Tantra (Diseases of Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat Head, Neck, Oral and Dentistry)<\/li>\n

    The Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University, was established in the year 2015 with an intake capacity of 100 seats, admission to which is through counselling conducted by Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra, Haryana. The College is attached to a teaching hospital of a strength of 100 beds which offers exceptional healthcare facilities including Panchakarma procedures, Classical Ayurveda therapies like Ksharsutra, Agnikarma, Snehan, Swedan, Raktmokshan etc. Other highlights include wellness centre, Herbal garden and well equipped laboratories.<\/p>\n
