Department of Shalakya Tantra, Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University organized free eye check up camp under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 15th November 2021 at IMS Hospital, SGT University.
The program was inaugurated by lamp lighting by Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Kumbar, Associate Dean, FIMS, Prof. (Dr.) Avnish Pathak, M.S, SGT Ayurveda Hospital and Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Patra, Head, Department of Shalakya Tantra, SGT University. The camp started with an address by Dr. Jyoti Kumbar and Dr. Avnish Pathak followed by eye checkup.
People usually neglect the problems related to their eyes but it is the most important organ of the human body and shouldn’t ever be ignored. The eye camp was organized with an aim to promote awareness about common eye problems along with complete Ayurvedic assessment and consultation. Vision check-up along with general eye examination was done for every patient while I.O.P and fundus examination was done in only required cases. Diet and lifestyle advice Pamphlets for maintaining healthy eyes were distributed. Around 200 patients were benefitted through the camp where free medicines were distributed to the needy.
