SGT University strives to promote sports and healthy lifestyle among students, the Department of Physical Education and Sports organized Inter Faculty Cricket Tournament from 25th November to 7th December 2021 where the students of Faculty of Indian Medical System (B.A.M.S.) participated under guidance of the sport coordinator Dr. Praveen Yadav (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Kayachikitsa, FIMS, SGTU).
Girls semi-final match was played among BAMS & Allied health sciences teams which was held on 03.12.21. Team Allied health sciences won the toss and decided to field first. Team BAMS recorded 76 runs in 5 wickets & won the semi-finals by 16 runs. The team was led by Ms. Arti Yadav as Captain & Ms. Shalini as Vice Captain. The team members included Ms. Asha, Ms. Jyoti Yadav, Ms. Kavita, Ms. Neha, Ms. Rajini, Ms. Kumud, Ms. Sonam, Ms. Manisha Saini, Ms. Renu, Ms. Paras, Ms. Vijeta, Ms. Priya & Ms. Yogita. Mr. Dinesh and Mr. Neeraj (Students of B.A.M.S.) were the coaches.
Boys Final match among the teams of BAMS & Law was held on 06.12.21. Team BAMS won the toss and decided to Bat first. 80 runs were scored at the loss of 10 wickets & Team BAMS won the finals by 54 runs. Man of the match title was won by Mr. Brahmjeet, Captain of the team. Mr. Sonu was the vice-captain and other team members included Mr. Ankit, Mr. Parvez, Mr. Samaun Khan, Mr. Amit, Mr. Abhishek,Mr. Sourav, Mr. Prince, Mr. Aman Mr. Vikram, Mr. Mohd. Saad, Mr. Pradeep, Mr. Rahul Kumar, Mr. Dinesh & Mr. Yasir Khan (Students of B.A.M.S.). Cricket is not just a game; one needs great team spirit & excellent coordination to win a match which was displayed by the players.
