“Fresher’s Party” in the college is an event for which every student eagerly awaits from their time of admission. The 3rd of September 2021 was as a memorable day in the life of every fresher of FIMS which marked “Aarambham”- The Beginning at SGT University campus. The fresher’s day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The program started at sharp 10.30 am at ‘A-Block auditorium’ by our Anchors Ms. Neeti and Mr. Pulkit with a warm welcome to all our Dignitaries and the Juries present at the function, followed by lighting of the lamp by our esteemed University Dignitaries ) Prof. Dr. O. P. Kalra (Hon. Vice Chancellor), Prof. Ramesh Chandra Kuhad (Pro. Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Navdeep Punj (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr. Vikash Dhawan (Pro Vice Chancellor Academics), Prof. Dr. Sharif Ahmad (Pro Vice Chancellor research and consultancy), Dr. Vijay Sharma (Dean Student Welfare) along with Prof. Dr. Jyoti Kumbar (Associate Dean, FIMS) and BAMS Students.
The welcome speech was given by Prof. Dr. Jyoti Kumbar (Associate Dean, FIMS) and the guest of honor were introduced. The freshers were formally welcomed & blessed by the guiding words of Prof. Ramesh Chandra Kuhad (Pro. Chancellor), Prof. Dr. O. P. Kalra (Hon. Vice Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Navdeep Punj (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr. Vikash Dhawan (Pro Vice Chancellor Academics), Prof. Dr. Sharif Ahmad (Pro Vice Chancellor research and consultancy).
The freshers came up with their unique Ramp walk in pairs and introduced themselves one by one in the allotted time. There were about 30 back to back performances. After this, all the participants came up on the stage with their hidden talent and performed one by one. 10 of them including 5 girls and 5 boys were finally shortlisted for the question – answer round. The juries asked some interesting and tricky questions to these students & most of them tackled those questions smartly. The contest was judged by Dr. Swapnil Auti, Dr. Sheetal Minhas and Dr. Bharat Vats. The Seniors also lit the stage on fire with their fabulous performances.
The award ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. O.P Kalra (Hon. Vice Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Navdeep Punj (Pro Vice Chancellor) and Dr. Vikas Nath (Additional Director IQAC) in which 6 Awards in 3 different categories were given. The winners of different categories were:
Ms. Fresher – Ms. Itishree Mr. Fresher – Mr. Himanshu Jangir
Ms. Personality – Ms. Naman Dixit Mr. Personality – Mr. Manish Kumar
Ms. Talented – Ms. Mansi Mr. Talented – Mr. Vivek
The Program concluded with a Vote of thanks by Manasvi, Class Representative, 2nd year BAMS.
