The Government of India has launched ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’ in March 2021 to commemorate 75th year of independence and started a 75-week countdown to 75th anniversary of India’s Independence till August 2022.
In order to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’, a full year Action Plan has been planned by Ministry of AYUSH. This programme is launched during AYUSH Week (30th August to 5th September). On 4th September, a National webinar was organized by Ministry of AYUSH on “HAMAARA AYUSH HAMAARA SWASTHYA”- on awareness about AYUSH systems among school and college students.
Staff and students of Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University actively participated in the event. More than 450 students of different faculties of SGT University including Faculty of Indian Medical System, Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Allied Health Science and Faculty of Physiotherapy also attended the webinar. The webinar focused on different AYUSH systems of medicine, Health promotive measures, awareness on medicinal plants etc. There was interaction with the students of schools and colleges. For yearlong program, activities like mass awareness program, competitions will be conducted.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Yagyik Mishra, Asst professor, Dept of Swasthavritta and Dr. Yogesh, Asst professor, Dept of Swasthavritta under the guidance of Dr.Jyoti Kumbar Associate Dean, Faculty of Indian Medical System.
